The Frog and The Scorpion

In order to preserve my sanity,I began to read..

In the first 60 pages of "Shantaram" I read a fable,a story that has long been told.It is still on my mind and will always be.

It is a story about a frog and a scorpion. The frog agreed to take the scorpion on its back across the river because the scorpion promised not to sting the frog.In the midway of the river, the scorpion stings the frog and they are about to drown.

The frog asks the scorpion, "Pray, why you stung me when you knew that both of us will drown?"

"I'm a Scorpion. It is my nature to sting." replied the sinking Scorpion.

  2. you are neither the frog nor the scorpion. secondly, you've got what it takes.....just have to find the right connections with the circuits.

Sending you the right waves, to take you upon the wings with which you soar the world.

    ;)

  6. I liked the post in its totality. The picture was nice too.
    Well, now the story.
    Case.1
The Scorpion was scared. It never trusted the frog.It feared that it might be drowned.Because of fear, instincts become active. The Scorpion was trying to play a role which it never was .
    Case.2
The frog try to play "Super Frog"
It seems that it want to announce to the world that"Frog gods are all dead! Now I give you the Super Frog".
    Moral 1
When Frienship is without trust, ship wrecks do happen.
    Nice, thoughtful post.
    Wishing you all happiness.
    cheers.
    Take care.
    Bye.

  9. I read Shantaram about 2.5 years ago. First few chapters landed as whamming blows on my battered conscience. Then slowly the flow of words started drifting me with itself. I began to lose my identity with each passing page.

Closing that book after reading for a while was always an experience of coming back to a world that I always thought I knew and ask myself - do I know this really?

  18. The first thing that came to mind .. "Cool !!, a talking frog and scorpion". That pretty much shows how much I have matured over the years. This was yesterday, I still havent understood the moral of the story so am going to quit thinking about it, but well written nonetheless.

Anyway I just read your location it says Australia, so you a desi gal in Videsh. How has the outback country been treating you?? :)
