Forgiven; Not Forgotten

I read a long time ago..."Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one but no one wants to see the other guys..."

Here is mine :D

Forgive; but never Forget. Forgiveness, they say is noble, forgiveness,I say is selfish. I forgive people to feel better..to release all the anger and pain that resides in me...Yes, I forgive but only because I cant live without forgiving...

Forgetfulness, they say is to do with the memory...my memory,I say is a tad too strong :)

  2. Oh so this topic has found it's way here??!!! I m glad...:).
Forgiveness can ne selfish but it definitely is tougher that the easier option which can be get back and stuff and thats where a sense of scrifice comes in and that is why it's considered noble I guess. Apart frm the fact that things don't go out of hand.
Not forgetting is a way of preventing further hurt...in a way..:). I do it too.

  5. Albert Camus told once that "the greatest power is the power to forget".Learning and unlearning is equally important. Why is it important?because the biggest virtue life offers is the capacity to wonder.Retaining this quality needs innocence.A mind full of memories can seldom be innocent...
    Very good post...

  8. So much sincerity in you words...but growing up is all about forgiving , and forgiving , and forgiving.......but, does'nt mean you got to stay a sucker, that's where memory could be useful!
Priya, a very nice sharing . Just nice and sweet as you are!
    thanks.

  9. aaah... confessions of an artistic mind!!!

any act that a human does is a direct product of his desire to remain peacefull if not happy. I like the thought where u say that forgiveness is a selfish act! well... y r u breathing in that case? I guess u'll have to ponder a little more on the relevance of the word "selfishness" as u understand it. Then look at the cooncept of forgiveness from a different perspective. may b this time the forgetting part will be taken care of by itself. and if still it doesen't then you know you are too angry inside to actually let the LAVA flow out. but dun worry one or the other day it wud. :)

The part that i loved about your personality is the kind of acceptance that you have about urself. U have flaws.. like every1.. but unlike every1 u know them... acting upon them is a "forced choice" which happens over a period of time. Your in the face approach is kind of a defence mechanism that u have harboured since u accept openly that u've stolen, cheated and lied in ur life and also that you have been cheated upon. I guess the anger and the rage subsiding in you has to find an outlet of some sorts... writing i see is one of them.

but all credits for the ntensity of the thoughts.... "walk up the ladder my child", solomen said. "for you are about to be woken up"!

  10. The Corrs debut album and a good song- that was my thought when i say this title.

injuries may be forgiven, but not forgotten.

almost most certainly remembering things are no problems but what you do with it might be.
